What is a Winter term?
The Winter term is a fairly new concept at MNU. It's a one-week term offered during the week prior to the spring semester, Jan 7-11, 2008.
Why would I want to cut short my Christmas break to take more classes?
Winter term classes are perfect for:
- students who want to earn elective credits or want to take enrichment courses at a reduced rate!
- juniors and seniors who need upper division credit
- students who need to raise their GPA to maintain federal aid or academic scholarships, or to qualify to play sports
- non-MNU students who live in the Kansas City area and want to earn credits during their holiday break
What kinds of courses can be offered in a one-week format?
Most of the classes offered during this year's Winter term are electives or enrichment classes. However, there are several classes which can help meet upper division graduation requirements.
How many credits can I earn?
The courses being offered range from 1-3 credit hours. Because of this, class
times will vary by course. See a list of Course
Offerings by selecting "winter term" in the pulldown menu.
How much will winter term courses cost? May I stay on campus?
While financial aid will not be available, Winter term classes are half tuition!
That's just $270 per credit hour.
If you're planning to stay in the residence halls during this week, you'll also need to plan on $8 per day in room charges. Students taking the one-week course will be able to move in on Saturday, Jan. 5.
When can I enroll for Winter term?
You may enroll in Winter term classes anytime between November 9 and the first
day of class when offices are open.
