Men's Basketball

About the Program

MidAmerica Nazarene University is a mainstay in the top-20 every year of the NAIA II. MidAmerica has been ranked every year but one that the Division II has been in existence. Anything less than a high national ranking or a tournament bid is beginning to be looked upon as an unsuccessful season.

The Pioneers have been a powerhouse in the HAAC in the last decade, wining five conference titles and having several All-Americans. In 2007, MNU won their first NAIA Division II National Championship. The Pioneers, under Coach Rocky Lamar, have a 437-242 record.

The Pioneers have had this success because they have learned to put first things first. We are excited that our young men are here to be in a Christ-centered environment. They are here to receive a quality Christian education and to play basketball on a team that is ranked in the top-20 year after year.

Coach Lamar is excited about the wellness center that was finished five years ago. It has four full-length basketball courts and seats approximately 3,000 fans. This helps to make MidAmerica basketball even more exciting, and will entice more and more fans and players to MNU.
