The #6 Pioneers survived a tough game at Central Methodist to move to 6-0. The Eagles jumped on the Pioneers immediately with a long return of the opening kickoff, then put the first play from scrimmage into the end zone for a quick 7-0 lead. MNU responded with 21 straight first quarter points to take control of the game.
A CMU field goal made the score 21-10 at halftime. Early in the second half, the Pioneers tacked on another touchdown (missed PAT) to take a 27-10 lead, but the Eagles didn't go quietly. A CMU touchdown early in the 4th quarter made it a ten-point game, but the Pioneers held them off until the final minute of play, where the Eagles got the game to 3-points with a touchdown. The ensuing onside kick went out of bounds, and the Pioneers held on.
Unofficially, Kendall Addison rushed for 114 yards and a touchdown; Brock Drumm caught 8 passes for 116 yards; and Stinson Dean passed for 247 yards and 3 touchdowns.
The Pioneers are 6-0. The next game is Homecoming on Saturday, October 18 vs. #3 Missouri Valley.
