Pioneers Drop Two in Nebraska

Hastings 84, MNU 69 - Hastings, ranked #2 in the nation, forged a commanding 16-point first half lead, then built their advantage up to 24 midway through the second half before the Pioneers rallied to cut the lead to eight late in the game. Hastings made 9 of 18 three point attempts and nailed 19 of their 24 free throws in this first round game of the Doane Classic. JoNel Henning (18), Amy Green (12), Taylor Ford (12), and Bethany Rexroth (10) all hit double figures for MNU, who fell to 3-1. Hastings remained undefeated (4-0).

Doane 81, MNU 74 - The Pioneers grabbed a 44-34 halftime advantage, only to see the hosts rally to win as they remained undefeated on the young season. MNU fell to 3-2.

Doane hit 17 of 19 free throws in the second half to emerge with the win. Taylor Ford (18), JoNel Henning (16), and Amy Green (11) all hit double figures for MNU.

The next game is Friday, November 14 at the Pioneer Classic vs. McKendree at 8pm.
