The Pioneer Invitational went well for MNU over the weekend. After a loss to Bethel (KS), wins over Mid-America Christian, Ottawa, and Johnson & Wales gave the Pioneers a 3-1 tourney record and brought the overall record to 8-10. The Pioneers swept a match vs. the Wildcats by the slimmest of margins on Tuesday. Each game was a 2-point victory and MNU is now 1-1 in HAAC play. The Lady Pioneers fell to the #15 ranked Lindenwood Lady Lions on Tuesday by 19-25, 16-25, and 23-25 scores. MNU fought hard, and led game three 22-20 before Lindenwood pulled together and closed the match with a 5-1 run.

The Pioneer volleyball team opened the 2008 season with a scrimmage against Calvary Bible.  The outcome of the scrimmage ended well with the Pioneers taking control of the match early and ending with a 3-0 victory.  Rallying together in the third match to come back from a deficit, the Pioneers pushed through and won the set/match. ...

Kevin Steele, Director of Athletics at California Baptist University, will become MidAmerica Nazarene University's seventh Director of Athletics August 1.
