Women's Soccer

About the Program

MNU has a strong tradition in athletics and many of the teams have been ranked in the top 20 and have played for the National Championships. Women's soccer is no different.

MNU soccer has much to offer. Our coaching staff is made up of college and professional players that love the game of soccer. Once you step foot on the MNU Soccer field you will see the passion for the game that the Coaches have.

The Pioneer Women's Soccer team competes in the tough (HAAC) Heart of America Athletic Conference and the (NCCAA) National Christian College Athletic Assocation. The 2005 season was our best year yet. In 16 of 18 games this year we bettered ourselves in scoring, goals against, and overall play. Coach Orton states "It was a great year for MNU soccer. We played our toughest schedule yet and did extremely well". Leading us this year were several players. Freshman Kim Nigh set several Goalkeeping records and earned our First Region V player. She was also First Team All-HAAC and First team All-Region for the NCCAA and NAIA. She was Honorable mention All-America for the NAIA and NCCAA. Staci Eastman was 2nd Team All-HAAC and All-Region 2nd team for the NCCAA. Also, Lauren Long was HAAC Honorable Mention. Beth Richards lead our defense and was named NCCAA Honorable mention All-American, and HAAC Honorable Mention, Julie Beck lead the team in scoring for the 3rd year in a row, she was 2nd Team All-HAAC, 1st Team All-Region NCCAA, and All-American Honorable mention for the NCCAA. Jessica Briones was NCCAA 1st Team All-Region. Senior defender Liz Spruill was 2nd Team All-Region NCCAA. Jenny Christenson Junior Midfielder was also 2nd Team All-Region NCCAA. Congratulation to all of our players for a GREAT year!!
