About Residence Hall Council
RHC IS...
A group of students, who have important positions as role models, are leaders in shaping a Christian community and are supportive of MNU's lifestyle policies.
Each hall functions similar to fraternity or society houses on other university campuses. The main purpose of the hall council is to identify and to determine the best way to meet the needs of its members using available resources on campus. It provides ownership and responsibility for the condition of the living environment under the direct control of the residents of the hall.
Each hall has a council of four members elected by the hall residents. They are as follows: one President, two Judicial Council Representatives, and one Hall Activities Manager.
THE PRESIDENT is to provide leadership for the entire hall. He/she is to insure success by initiative and model. The President also serves on the Judicial Council. He/she represents the hall in RHC meetings and is to be the initiator of hall activities and meetings.
THE JUDICIAL REPRESENTATIVES are responsible for the holistic needs of the hall and are to bring those needs to the attention of the hall and RHC councils. The representatives serve on the Judicial Council for disciplinary matters. Both the President and the Judicial Representatives must work closely with the RA's of their hall. One of the representatives will keep records of all hall meetings and the decisions made..
THE HALL ACTIVITIES MANAGER will offer input/ideas on all of the activities for the hall and coordinate the efforts needed to make those activities happen and will obtain funds through the proper channels for hall activities. These will be both social activities and opportunities for spiritual growth and service. The Activities Manager serves on the Judicial Council for disciplinary matters.
THE RA's will work closely with the President and the rest of the hall council. They are not there to spoon-feed or manipulate the council, but to help, guide, nurture, and support the ideas and dreams of the council. The RA's should work with the council in achieving an atmosphere reflective of a Christian community.
