Play Therapy Certificate Program
YOUR GOAL IS OUR PURPOSE
The Certificate in Play Therapy at MidAmerica Nazarene University is a 22 hour post-graduate program designated to prepare the student for involvement as a play therapist in clinical settings in either the public or private sector. This certificate program is designed to meet the post-master’s requirements specified by the Association for Play Therapy (APT) for the Registered Play Therapist credential.
The program uses a cohort approach to graduate study in the field of Play Therapy with a dual emphasis on supplying quality training for clinical work as well as providing opportunities for clinical application. The goal of the program is to prepare the graduate to skillfully and compassionately provide therapeutic services in a highly demanding environment.
REACHING YOUR GOAL
An adult-focused schedule means that you can continue to meet your personal and professional obligations. Students complete the program in 13 months in a cohort classroom setting by attending class one week-end a month. (Practicums require additional hours)

MNU faculty take a hands-on approach to your learning experience and provide state-of-the-art, live supervision during your clinical experience. This packaged program will enroll a group of students each summer and move them through the course sequences providing them with the opportunity to form long-term associations with their peers as well as the possibility to experience a lively, interactive learning environment. Students may also enroll in individual courses and/or Practicums at their personal pace (prior approval of the Program Coordinator is needed).

Our certificate program is a superior value when compares with other certification options. The costs include course tuition AND clinical supervision. Plus a state-of-the-art Play Therapy Center outfitted with video taping for practice and security purposes is included in the package.
