Phonathon for Student Scholarships
From January to March, students from across MNU's campus participate in the annual Phonathon for Student Scholarships. Over the years, the Phonathon has raised thousands of dollars for student scholarships from alumni, parents, and friends who have partnered with the University. In recent years, students have raised over $125,000 in scholarship support during each Phonathon.
Why is the Student Phonathon important?
Since tuition and fees cover only two-thirds of the actual cost of educating a MidAmerica student, the University must raise additional funds to support annual operating costs and student scholarship programs. Each year, MNU provides over $2.5 million in student scholarship support each year. Annual Fund gifts specifically designated for student scholarships provides an opportunity for alumni, parents, and friends to offer tangible support to students in need of scholarship assistance.
Does my gift make a difference?
Every gift makes a difference, and ongoing support from our donors is critical.
As a private institution, MidAmerica does not receive government money as other
schools do, and as such we rely heavily upon the support of alumni, parents,
and friends of the University who believe in our mission. In addition, participation
in corporate matching gift programs frequently
enable donors to double or triple the impact of their gift.
Why is my participation so critical?
In addition to providing financial assistance to our students, the participation of alumni who give to the University helps inform MidAmerica of "alumni satisfaction", allowing for better ranking among peer institutions. In addition, gifts to MidAmerica help the university leverage itself for grants from foundations and corporations.

Gift Club Recognition
Both large and small gifts reflect a commitment to stewardship and continue
to make the MidAmerica experience possible for students. Aside from the personal
enrichment you will receive by making a gift to the Annual Fund, your participation
will qualify you for participation in one of several gift clubs established
to recognize individuals for their generous support of MidAmerica Nazarene University.
All donors will be recognized according to Gift
Club levels and printed in the Honor Roll of Donors published annually as
part of the winter issue of Accent.
